Price of Human Eggs: Going Up!
The Arizona Republic has a story that puts the price of eggs for use in fertility treatments as high as $24,000. Imagine the potential price if cloning becomes ubiquitous. Indeed, it would drive the trade in eggs to the destitute countries and the establishment of a bio colonialism that would exploit poor women for their eggs.

It might even be found less expensive to bring egg donors to the US from other countries. One of the excuses for the low wages of immigrant workers is that there are no Americans willing to work for such wages. There may also be no Americans willing to donate eggs for as little as can be paid to immigrants who would do it for low pay and the opportunity to live in the US. That could be the beginning of a strange new twist on the illegal immigration issue.
BAP,
I wouldn't doubt it.
