A Columnist "Gets It" About The Radical New Jersey Cloning License
This columnist did his homework. The result: Clarity and Truth.
This Blog considers assisted suicide/euthanasia, bioethics, human cloning, biotechnology, radical environmentalism, and the dangers of animal rights/liberation. My views expressed here, as in my books and other writings, reflect my understanding that the philosophy of human exceptionalism is the bedrock of universal human rights. Or, to put it another way: human life matters. (The opinions expressed here are my own and not necessarily those of any organization with which I am affiliated.)

I live in New Jersey and was so happy to read Paul Mulshine's article - happier yet because he has discovered you. Keep checking in with him, Wesley. We need all the help we can get!
NJ's Acting Governor Dick Codey also has his name on the infamous "clone and kill" bill but insists the bill outlaws cloning. On June 1, the Star Ledger printed an article from the Associated Press about Massachusett's recent embryonic stem cell law and stated that cloning to produce a baby is already prohibited under federal law. I called the correction line and pointed out there are no federal bans on human cloning. The Managing Editor left a message for me later in the day saying he had consulted the head of the NJ stem Cell Institute and that technically there is no federal ban on human cloning but that "the president's policy on funding of stem cell lines constitutes a ban on cloning in spirit, if not in the letter of the law." In other words, he apparently does not see a need to issue a correction. I'm so frustrated and angry at this kind of misinformation and even angrier at the acts of ommission (when newspapers refuse to report miraculous uses of adult stem cells) that are shaping public opinion (and law, etc). What can I do about it?
Keep up the good work! I love the blog.
Sincerely, Debbie
