Threatening Michael Schiavo is Wrong!
Apparently Michael Schiavo is in hiding because of death threats. Anyone who threatens violence dishonors the memory of Terri Schiavo and the noble struggle in which so many participated. Indeed, the Schindlers said explicitly to put away hate.
The Pope forgave his attempted assassin. Terri's sweet face was full of love. Such threats have no place at this time of great grief for the passing of a truly good man and an innocent, defenseless woman.

Certainly you are right that threats and violence are wrong always. But I am not sure they are coming from Terri's side. I saw something the day Terri died that reminded me of a formulaic approach I have seen corporate-or shall I say lawless types in power-use to control images in David v. Goliath battles. The Michael Shiavo camp was saying Bobby schindler was "disruptive" for showing emotion when his sister was dying under awful circumstances. Bobby comes across as so real, so loving, to me that my guess is that if he showed indignation, it was righteous indignation which is understandable under those circumstances -and sometimes called for. I thought what one of the priests said about Christians sometimes needing to show righteous indignation was right and that his observation that Michael was sugar coating his actions was also likely accurate. I have seen that the "powers that be that shouldn't be" sometimes try to make the other side look crazy and dangerous. I once had to stand up to rebut accusations against a client offered to a city council in a petition at a meeting where no testimony was allowed. The mayor stood up and shouted "REMOVE HER" because I was doing my job as a lawyer in a system that was making it difficult. Then people started gossiping to the press about how I "had to be removed from a hearing". But I did what I had to do. Ultimately, I think the press needs to gain more sophistication. I think it is happening. But slowly. Thanks for all your hard work.
Bobby Schindler is one of the nicest, most selfless and caring men I have ever met. He is respectful and humble, (insists on calling me "Mr. Smith," even though I said he could call me Wesley). And the entire family has never been harsh, vituperative, or anything but noble and long suffering in public.
To the John Leo Get’s It string, Wesley Smith said to my comment ….
G. Walker's attitude explains why disability rights activists are so terrified by recent events. Once some of us can be dehumanized as worthless, there is nothing that cannot be done to them. Eugenics anyone
I am confused. What attitude was I expressing that causes terror in the disability rights activists? The only point I thought I was making was that a small limb on a tree I wanted to prune had more protection and rights than Terri’s right to live. I am on your side!
Hi G. Walker,
I was confused by Wesley's comment, as well. I understood what you were trying to say in the previous article. Nevertheless, thanks for clarifying your point.
Kind regards,
Trudy
Mea culpa. I thought you BELIEVED that Terri was only worth a limb on a tree. That was why I stated what I did. SO Sorry I missed the sarcasm. But I am thick sometimes.
We should also be aware that Michael Schiavo's "handlers" have done a fine job of painting him as a helpless victim - always ignoring who the true helpless victim was in all of this. I'm sure this will be the overriding theme of any book published about this by the pro-death-by-dehydration crowd (including lawyer, George Felos.) Prepare yourselves, because I guarantee this is the approach they'll take.
Also note that although I'm sure there have been threats of violence toward Michael Schiavo (which, by the way, are never acceptable from anyone) the mainstream media will nitpick this to the extreme to paint a bad label on anyone who just purely wanted Terri to have her civil rights protected and her life proceed.
Faith
Just wait until I get the opportunity to pick apart every single lying statement that Michael Schiavo said against the Schindlers. There is a true pattern to the lies that have been told. I need to piece it all together and when I am ready I will be writing something about what I noticed.
That man is a pathological liar and I have a feeling that by his constant lies he has also tipped his own hand. Please bear with me, and I will try to piece what I have discovered together.
I do not see the need for threats of violence. People should try to stop being so angry so that we can get down to the task of investigation into what really happened that night, as well as the persistent abuse over a period of 15 years until he finally succeeded in putting her to death.
That man has made certain admissions in testimony as well as in public interviews that are very incriminating.
When he is arrested, tried, found guilty of Terri's murder, I hope that his sentence becomes the sentence that he gave to his wife (nice piece of fanciful reasoning, but it is what he deserves)
I agree with all of the previous comments. The Schindler family held themselves out to the public with incredible dignity and respect under circumstances which were utterly unbearable. I am certain that so much of the information given to the media was staged by George Felos. I am an attorney in abuse and neglect cases and have often experienced the same situation where the abuser manipulates information to appear to be the victim. The only crime Terri and her family are guilty of is to have ever trusted Michael Schiavo. Nonetheless, violence is never the answer. The bottom line is that actions speak louder than words. The Schindler's have displayed their deep, beautiful and powerful love for Terri and their respect for all human beings. Michael Schiavo's actions speak so strongly of his lack of love or compassion that it is truly painful to think about. If the Schindler's had been anything other than the divinely caring and loving people they appear to be...maybe Michael Schiavo wouldn't have become intoxicated with his own power so fearlessly and absolutely. But isn't that what abusers do? Taking advantage of the kindness, gentleness and peace of others. I think that is one of the sad ironies of this situation. Mr. Smith, thank you for the efforts you put forth on Terri's behalf and for lending credibility to her silent cries for help. She was and is an angel and her suffering must move us to seek a higher consciousness for humanity before it is too late. Thank you so very much.

Michael Schiavo is a piece of shit. He DESERVES to die slowly and painfully. When he is finally dead and buried I plan on taking a trip to his grave to defecate on it.
I share the same contempt for Judge Greer who should also receive sweet justice.
