John Leo Gets It
John Leo sees how important the Schiavo case is to the future of moral medical practice and our belief as a society in the sanctity and equality of human life.
This WEB log considers issues involving assisted suicide/euthanasia, bioethics, human cloning, biotechnology, and the dangers of animal rights/liberation. My views expressed here, as in my books and other writings, reflect my understanding that the philosophy of human exceptionalism is the bedrock of universal human rights. Or, to put it another way: human life matters. (The opinions expressed here are my own and not necessarily those of any organization with which I am affiliated.)

“One nation under God”…call me old fashion but without absolutes or anchors, everything John Leo refers to as the “unexceptional” becomes possible. “And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.” Gen. 11:6 (God’s proclamation before scattering the nation of Babel over the face of the earth).
Just wanted to comment that I just saw Felos on Fox News make the "stunning" announcement that he would allow the county medical examiner to conduct an autopsy on Terri. Yes, he clearly knows how to play the media. But as to the assertions that he is "outlawyering" the Shindler's counsel, I don't know. It appears to be they are being slimed. And I hope they realize they ought to have their own experts at the autopsy, as my hunch is that other county employees could easily be as impartial as Judge Greer has shown himself to be.
