How The Internet Made the Schiavo Case an International Story
There have been other food and fluids cases almost identical to Terri Schiavo's. And these people had higher capacities. For example, Robert Wendland could roll a wheelchair down a hospital corridor and yet, a hospital ethics committee thought it was A-okay to dehydrate him to death. Wendland made news, but nothing like Terri Schiavo did. Why? Think: Internet. I explain.

I agree completely with what you wrote Wes. The "Pajamamushadeen" has clearly taken away the strangle hold on information.
But, I'd also like to add, that because of Judge Greer's ruling that photographs and videotape could no longer be taken, this entire case at the end has been sterilized/sanitized to a large degree. Far be it from me to guess, but would the poll results about this case have been different if those polled had seen recent pictures of Terri, much less pictures of her in the process of dehydration? The side that promoted and supported the judicial killing here have chronically complained that we're only being shown snippets of video of Terri and it's not a full picture of her condition. But I wonder what our fellow citizens would really think if they saw the reality of her condition from dehydration in these last days. I will venture to guess this damage control was well thought out from the onset.
